Verney College Chronicle - Knowledge is the Light - Issue 1

Updated: Oct 13, 2023

August 2022

From the Principal's desk

The time has finally arrived for the staff and students to breathe a sigh of relief as we have come to the end of Term 2. Assessment and feedback are essential to student learning, it provides an opportunity for students to evaluate their ability, to appraise themselves, to make judgements about their own performances and decide how to improve on their results next time round. Reflect on your results and make the necessary changes so that Term 3 can be more successful. I encourage our students to believe in their dreams and aim to achieve their individual visions. I would like to thank all the Verney College staff for their hard work. Thank you to the parents for all your support throughout the term. I wish everyone a restful holiday.

Yours in Education

Manuela Jardim - Principal

Foundation Phase News

“A room without books is like a body without a soul”

In 2020 when we were overwhelmed with a “new normal” because of covid, our foundation phase library had become off limits. The foundation phase is pleased to announce that our new revamped media centre is now open for business. Our learners will soon have the opportunity to borrow books, conduct research, watch educational movies and explore their imagination in our fantasy play area.

We look forward to having our learners enjoy a space in which they can develop their love for reading.

As Dr Seuss has said “The more you read, the more things you will know, the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go!”

Enjoy the break and we look forward to having our learners back next term ready to explore, investigate and discover!
